My guppy tail is turning clear in color. Does anyone know what has happened to my guppy???...?

My guppy tail is turning clear in color. The whole tail is still there, no biting mark or anything. We brought two red male guppies home to our 22 gallons tank, one of them still have his full red color tail, but the other one seems to have a problem with his tail. His tail starts to slowly fade to a light red color and now, it just looks like he has a see through tail. Does anyone know what has happened to my guppy???... He鈥檚 eating fine and is swimming actively鈥ater ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrates levels are normal鈥?Please help!!My guppy tail is turning clear in color. Check its food. Lack of vitamins maybe. My guppy tail is turning clear in color. Does anyone know what has happened to my guppy???...?
it is probably completely normal -- sometimes guppies don't breed ';true'; and will change and mutate. goldfish often do this -- they start out one color and turn another color and then something else.

if you just got him you can take him back and yell that them or just learn to love his pale tail.

most fish grow back damaged fins clear and then they turn colors -- did he have any fin damage?
You can get 3 female guppies. Platy's are much faster swimmers then the fancytails, those big tails slow them down alot. I had a similar situation, 1 male fancytail and a lone platy. The fancy would tag after the platy all the time. I guess it was trying to mate %26lt;%26lt;%26gt;%26gt; or maybe just curious and playful. Most guppies sre pretty harmless, but someone here had a post of a ';Killer Guppy';. Also, if you have 1 male platy and 1 female platy, the male will also chase the female relentlessly for some tail. Livebearers like platy's and guppies should be kept at a 1 male to 3 female ratio to reduce stress from mating. Another alternative is all same sex. Livebearers are notorious bad parents. The chance of the fry surviving after birth is slim when kept with the parents and not removed to a fry tank. Livebearers mate constantly.
Food may be a cause. I would also introduce a female to the tank.
